Byers is a small, unincorporated rural community of approximately 1,420 people. Farming and ranching are the backbone of Byers’ economy.In the 1970’s and 1980’s, oil and gas exploration contributed to a more diversified economy. With restaurants, gas stations, a grocery store, liquor store, feed and clothing store, tanning salon, bank, hardware store, veterinary clinic, beauty shops, nail salon, parts and repair shop and numerous other small businesses, Byers is a self-sufficient community with much to offer. The water in Byers is some of the purest anywhere. |
