Aspen is a historic mining town with 100-year-old Victorian flavor. During the spring, summer and fall, visitors can choose from an amazing variety of activities in the Aspen / Snowmass area,

including every kind of sport/outdoor activity imaginable (hiking, mountain biking, cycling, golf, parasailing, rafting, kayaking, rodeos, balloon rides, camping and fishing on the nearby Frying Pan and Roaring Fork Rivers); museums, theaters and film, art and music festivals, sightseeing tours to ghost towns or the majestic Maroon Bells; shopping, dining and 10 nearby parks.

In winter, however, a trip to Aspen usually means one thing: world-class skiing. Four ski mountains in the Aspen area (Aspen Mountain, Buttermilk, Aspen Highlands and Snowmass) offer over 3,000 acres of beautiful skiable terrain for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.

Snowmass, about 12 miles from downtown Aspen, is also a must-visit destination throughout the year. With 1,500 acres of varied ski and snowboard terrain, Snowmass is widely considered the best family-oriented ski mountain in the area.
